Two documentary classes at MassArt this summer

April 12, 2009 by David Tames

http://www.flickr.com/photos/saaby/36742480/I’m teaching two courses this summer through MassArt Professional and Continuing Education. Interested in documentary video? Documentary Video Boot Camp will give you the foundation you need to get started. Is there a documentary you’d like to make this summer and you’ve already got basic production experience? Documentary Project Studio will help you hone your skills and guide you through the process of planning, production, and editing a short documentary. Consider taking one or both this summer, depending on your interests and needs.

  • SFDN101 Documentary Video Boot Camp (Monday through Friday, June 8-12, 9a-5p, 1.5 credits). An immersive hands-on learning experience for those who want to learn the fundamentals of video documentary in an intimate and focused setting.
  • MPFV217 Documentary Project Studio (meets Tuesdays, June 16 through Aug 4, 6-9:30p, 1.5 credits). A studio course for students who want to produce their own complete short documentary, prerequisite: Documentary Video Boot Camp or equivalent experience.

In addition, check out the summer schedule of film/video courses available online, especially Maria Agui Carter’s Producing the Documentary class.

More details and sample handouts are available on my Documentary Video Boot Camp page. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about these classes or call MassArt Professional and Continuing Education at 617.879.7200 to register.
