Karin Segal, assistant conservator and publicist at the Harvard Film Archive, and Julie Buck, the head of conservation the Harvard Film Archive, have restored 70 color-timing control strip images (a.k.a. “China Girls”) that make up their exhibition “Girls on Film” at the Sert Gallery in the Carpenter Center at Harvard University. The exibition runs July 16 through September 18, 2005. The exhibition includes a short program of films on the Sert video wall outside the gallery. On Sept. 16, 2005 at 9 p.m., the Harvard Film Archive will present a program of experimental films to complement “Girls on Film.” Each of the films represents a different artist’s engagement with found footage.
